The Jungle Farm
Here at The Jungle Farm, our passion is growing tasty fruits and vegetables for you and your family to enjoy. The Jungle Farm is a century old farm located just south of Red Deer.
Blaine, Leona and our three boys grow strawberries, pickling cucumbers, celery, lettuce, pumpkins and various other vegetables. All our vegetables are grown with no pesticides applied to them. We enjoy eating the fruits of our labor right out in our garden.
Blaine’s degree in agriculture allows him the knowledge to be a great steward of our land and water. We use some innovative gardening techniques to conserve our water and allow our plants to grow faster. Every year we have a garden tour in July so we can show you the benefits of drip irrigation, raised mulched growing beds, low and high tunnels. Later in the summer, Leona offers jam and pickle making classes. Throughout our growing season we have festivals on our farm to celebrate the different seasons: in the summer the strawberry festival; in September our sauerkraut festival and our large fall festival just before Thanksgiving.
Leona is dedicated to educating people about farming, the cycles of growing and harvesting vegetables. We host numerous school field trips, day homes, garden clubs, senior tours, playschools, girl guides and other youth groups at our farm for one of our many educational programs.
Our CSA started in 2012. We will have 12 weeks of produce baskets. We are excited about offering jam and pickle making courses, discounts on our local food dinners and admission tickets to our farm entertainment area to our CSA customers.
